On the Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus with the Head of the Foreign Ministry of the Maldives

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Irutisham Adam, during which they reaffirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation in the tourism sector.
An agreement was reached to intensify cooperation within international organizations on issues of mutual interest.

The two sides expressed their readiness to develop a legal framework, including in the area of ​​air travel. They highlighted education, training for the medical industry, tourism and recreation, and the supply of Belarusian food products as promising areas of cooperation. They reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts at the highest and other high levels.
Following the meeting, the ministers signed an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on the mutual abolition of visas.
