Political Relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of Nepal were established on July 19, 1993.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of India H.E. Mr.A.I. Rzheussky presented his credentials to President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal H.E. Mrs.B.D. Bhandari on September 11, 2019.



In August 2000, citizen of Nepal Mr.U.Mahato was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Nepal in the Republic of Belarus.

In August 2002, Princess J.Basnyat of Nepal (sister of the former King of Nepal) paid a brief private visit to the Republic of Belarus.

Twinning relations have been established between Minsk and Kathmandu. In September 2002, a delegation headed by the acting Mayor of Kathmandu visited Minsk.

In November 2009, citizen of Nepal Mr.A.R.S. Parajuli was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Kathmandu.

The National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 7th convocation has formed a Working Group on Cooperation with Parliaments of Certain Asian States, including the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus delivered humanitarian cargo to the victims of the earthquake in Nepal in spring of 2015.

Interaction between Belarus and Nepal within the UN is episodic.
