Procedure to obtain a visa in the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Mumbai

Starting from May 24, 2022 Indian citizens, as well as other foreign citizens, from all regions of India can submit their applications for Belarusian visas at the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Mumbai.

The address of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Mumbai is as follows: Bajaj Bhawan, Office 51, 5th Floor, Barrister Rajni Patel Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai, MH, 400021.

Visa applications can be submitted as per the following schedule:

Tuesday, Thursday: 10.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M.

A visa application can be submitted at a different time, subject to the approval of the Consulate General. Contact details for communication: tel. +91 22 4603 6546, email: mumbai@mfa.gov.by.

In order to obtain an entry visa, a foreign citizen is required to submit the following documents:

One duly completed visa application form (click here)

the visa application form should be filled out in legible handwriting or typing (in BLOCK LETTERS), in English or Russian/ Belarusian

answers to the questions should be complete and logically consistent and indicate the real purpose of the visit

the purpose of the visit should be specified in detail

if a question does not apply, please, write “N/A”, incomplete forms will be returned to the applicants unprocessed

it is the applicant’s responsibility to check whether the information given on the form is correct

the application form should be signed by the applicant personally; failure to observe this requirement may result in refusal of the application

the visa application form for a minor should be signed by their legal representative

One colour photograph, which meets the following requirements:

not older than 6 months

size 35x45 mm

full face (70-80 % of the picture) without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless for ethnic or religious reasons

plain, evenly lit and light background

high resolution

no corrugation or ink is allowed

A valid original passport which

contains a photograph of the holder

has at least two blank pages intended for visas

is valid for at least 90 days after the expected departure date from the Republic of Belarus

is not dubious in terms of authenticity or ownership

contains no torn pages, marks, entries, erasures and corrections that are not certified by the issuing authorities of the respective foreign state

ATTENTION — if the applicant is under 18 years old – a COPY of full Birth Certificate (contains information about parents) and copies of passports of the applicant’s parents (legal representatives)

if the applicant previously had USSR or Belarusian citizenship –  a document certifying the loss of the USSR or Belarusian citizenship must be submitted to the Embassy

Visa support documents (visa-invitation) depending on the type of the visa requested (see details on the link).

Please note that visa support documents remain in the consular section of the Embassy after the consideration of an application for a Belarusian visa.

A COPY of the obligatory health insurance certificate of a foreign (including Indian) or Belarusian medical insurance company which should contain the following information:

the name and address of the foreign insurance company (bank), it`s phone number

the name of the foreign citizen covered by the insurance

the territorial validity should include the Republic of Belarus (Should be written Belarus, Europe incl. Belarus or Worldwide);

it should be valid for the period of your staying in the Republic of Belarus;

the minimum limit of responsibility of the medical insurance is 10 000 Euro.

Please provide only the copies of pages of your health insurance, containing the above mentioned information (usually a copy of a health insurance certificate is enough ). There is no need to send the entire booklet and agreement of your insurance. You must have the original of your medical insurance policy during your staying in Belarus.

Please pay attention that accommodation booking confirmation must be send to you directly from the hotel on the letterhead by email or fax. Visa section does not accept information from websites like “booking.com” etc.
If you are renting private APARTMENTS, you have to provide scanned copies which the Landlord should send you by e-mail: booking confirmation; proof that the lessor is the owner of the apartments; certificate of the registration of a private unitary enterprise.

Confirmed flight itinerary

Personal bank account statement for the period not less than 3 month prior to the date of visa submission.  Pay slip from work place is also acceptable.

Applicants for students' visas are required to provide the following documents along with the mentioned above ones:

Indian educational documents (school leaving certificates, diplomas)

NEET test result (for medical students)

PAYMENT METHODS:

Beware of fraudness! The visa fee is 60 EURO payable in INR (120 EURO for urgent visas). The Consulate General does not cooperate with any organization (except of VFS Global) nor individuals who suggest facilitation in obtaining Belarus' visa. Belarus is non-Schengen member. Belarus’ visa does not allow to travel to European Union Member States. 

Consular fees are payed in Indian Rupees in RBL Bank Nariman Point branch or via net banking/bank mobile app  with reference to the surname. No cash, no card facilities at the Consulate General. The consular officer will notify you of exact amount of visa-fee after the visa-application is done (the fee in Rupees depends on the daily exchange rate of the Reserve Bank of India). Please, pay the exact amount requested — do not round it!  Once the payment is done in the bank branch, the applicant is required to bring the deposit slip to the Consulate General before 12-30 pm of the application day. 

Visa processing periods:

3 business days – standard processing time (for example, if you submit your application on Tuesday, the decision on it will be taken on Thursday)

within 48 hours (usually next working day) – express processing time (double fee is applied). This option may be not available due to the big ammount of applications.

You do not need an appointment in order to apply for a visa. Visit us during visitors hours: Tuesday, Thursday between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m. except Belarus’ National holidays.

Important information:

once you receive your passport with visa, please check the visa stamp

please, note that visas cannot be extended at the Consulate General. If your travel plans change after the visa was issued, you have to apply for a new visa

to extend the term of stay in the Republic of Belarus, a foreign national should apply to local office of Citizenship and Migration Department at the place of registration in order to obtain an exit visa

upon arrival to Belarus visitors are required to register at the local citizenship and migration office of the Ministry of Interior of Belarus within 10 business days. Thereafter, local police authorities will issue a registration stamp, which will be attached to the visitor’s passport. If the visitor is staying in a hotel, this will be arranged by the hotel services (reception bureau).

At the points of entry to the Republic of Belarus the officers of the border control service may require the proof of availability and sufficiency of the means of payment. You are to proof the availability of your monetary funds in the volume equivalent to at least US $ 600 for each month of stay per person. For the period of stay in Belarus less than one month — at least US $ 25 for each day of stay per person. The availability of monetary funds could be confirmed by presenting following documents:

cash money in US dollars, Euro, Belarusian rubles and etc.

travel checks, securities and other document which provide the obtaining cash money.

hotel booking confirmation and other relevant documents.

guarantee letter from the inviting party, which provides its guest the payments of all expenses related to the stay and departure.

return tickets or tickets to the third country/ vehicle.

debit or credit card which is suitable for international payments may be considered as a proof of the availability of your monetary fund only together  with the bank account statement issued not later than 10 days before arrival to Belarus.

Foreign nationals traveling to the Republic of Belarus in transit through the territory of the Russian Federation (including any air flight through the Russian Federation), should apply for the Russian transit visa!
