Ambassador of Belarus to India and Sri Lanka (concurrently) held a meeting with the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka
09.07.2026On July 9, 2026, Ambassador of Belarus to India and Sri Lanka (concurrently) M.M. Kasko met with the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka, Mr. Anura Karunathilaka. The parties discussed the development of air travel between the two countries. In particular, the issue of relocating the scheduled flight from Mattala to the island nation's capital, Colombo, was raised. The parties agreed that this step would play a significant role in promoting Sri Lankan travel among Belarusian citizens, given the introduction of visa-free travel, and would also facilitate logistics for Sri Lankan citizens studying and doing business in Belarus.
The Minister responded by noting that relations between Belarus and Sri Lanka have become more active and warmer compared to the previous period and assured that he will make every effort to promote the initiatives outlined by the Belarusian side.
