Visa Issues

Attention! 

Starting from October 7, 2025 the Consulate General will be receiving all visa applications only upon prior appointment. 

To book an appointment, please, send an e-mail only to visa.mumbai@mfa.gov.by (please, don’t send to mumbai@mfa.gov.by). 

In your request, please, specify the information about your purpose of visit to Belarus, period of stay, name of the inviting company/person, permanent address in India (for Indian citizens only) and wait for the reply of the Consulate Ganeral with the date and time slot for your visa application submission. 

Please, note that the appointments will not be provided by phone or through any other means of communication except of e-mail. 

 

PAYMENT METHODS:

Beware of fraudness! The visa fee is 60 EUROS payable in INR (120 EUROS for urgent visas). Belarus is non-Schengen member. Belarus’ visa does not allow to travel to European Union Member States.

Consular fees are payed in Indian Rupees or Euro through bank only (the RBL Bank is situated close to the Consulate General) with reference to the surname. No cash, no card facilities at the Consulate General. The consular officer will notify you of exact amount of visa-fee after the visa-application is done (the fee in Rupees depends on the daily exchange rate of Indian Reserve Bank). Please, pay exact ammount requested — do not round it!  After payment is done in the bank, the applicant must bring the deposit slip to the Consulate General no later then 15:30 pm of the day of application.

Visa processing times:

Consular section strongly recommend to apply for your visa not later than one month before your visit to Belarus:

5 days – standard processing time (for example, if you apply on Monday visa will be ready on Friday 9.30 a.m.)

within 48 hours (usually next working day) – express processing time (for an extra fee). This option may be not available due to the big ammount of applications.

Important information:

once you receive your passport with visa, please check the visa stamp

please, note that visas cannot be extended at the Embassy. If your travel plans change after the visa was issued, you have to apply for a new visa

to extend the term of stay in the Republic of Belarus, a foreign national should apply to local office of Citizenship and Migration Department at the place of registration in order to obtain an exit visa

upon arrival to Belarus visitors are required to register at the local citizenship and migration office of the Ministry of Interior of Belarus within 10 business days. Thereafter, local police authorities will issue a registration stamp, which will be attached to the visitor’s passport. If the visitor is staying in a hotel, this will be arranged by the hotel services (reception bureau).

At the points of entry to the Republic of Belarus the officers of the border control service may require the proof of availability and sufficiency of the means of payment. You are to proof the availability of your monetary funds in the volume equivalent to at least US $ 600 for each month of stay per person. For the period of stay in Belarus less than one month — at least US $ 25 for each day of stay per person. The availability of monetary funds could be confirmed by presenting following documents:

cash money in US dollars, Euro, Belarusian rubles and etc. (! Not recommended to bring uncommon types of currencies in order to avoid embarrassing situations during exchange calculations!)

travel checks, securities and other document which provide the obtaining cash money.

hotel booking confirmation and other relevant documents.

guarantee letter from the inviting side which provides its guest the payments of all expenses related to the stay and departure.

return tickets or tickets to the third country/ vehicle.

debit or credit card which is suitable for international payments may be considered as a proof of the availability of your monetary fund only together  with the bank account statement issued not later than 10 days before arrival to Belarus.
