On the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus
02.07.2024On July 2, 2024, the Embassy held a reception in New Delhi on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus – Republic Day, the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.
The participants were greeted by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of India H.E. Mr. Mikhail Kasko. In his welcoming speech, the Belarusian Ambassador noted the importance of preserving historical memory and the truth about the Great Patriotic War, about the feat of the Belarusian and all Soviet people in the fight against fascism, and the victory that came at a high price. The importance of continuing the active dynamics of Belarusian-Indian cooperation on a wide range of issues based on traditional friendship, trust and mutual understanding was emphasized.
The Hon’ble Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, made a congratulatory speech in response, noting that the peculiarity of the Belarusian-Indian relations is their long-term and sustainable nature against the background of various global changes and geopolitical developments. This is possible only with a good understanding of each other's interests and perspectives.
The event was attended by high-level representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, Ministry of Finance of India, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs of Department of Revenue of the Ministry of Finance of India and other government bodies, Honorary Consuls of Belarus, heads and employees of diplomatic missions accredited in New Delhi, business representatives.
Also, on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, a photo exhibition was presented to the guests.
