Signing of a major contract for the supply of 96 mining dump trucks to India

On January 28 — 30, 2021, the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus P. Parkhomchik and the General Manager of OJSC BELAZ S. Nikiforovich visited Kolkata, where the management of OJSC “BELAZ” and the Indian state-owned company “Coal India” signed a contract for the supply of 96 Belarusian mining dump trucks with payload capacity of 220 metric tons to India.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of India A. Rzheussky who also arrived in Kolkata, took part in meetings with the leadership of “Coal India”, as well as with the representatives of business community and the government of West Bengal.
The signing of this largest contract for the supply of Belarusian mining equipment to South Asia is the result of longstanding work by OJSC “BELAZ” and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in India to promote the Belarusian products to the Indian market. According to the existing agreements, the primary consignment of 6 trucks will be shipped in the first — beginning of the second quarters of 2021. After their testing a decision will be made on the delivery time for the main consignment of mining dump trucks.
In 2020 77 mining dump trucks with payload capacity of 136 tons were successfully shipped to “Coal India”. More than half of them were assembled and are being operated in Indian coal mines.
