The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus took part in the opening of the Belavia flight on the Minsk-Mattala route.

On October 28, Ambassador of Belarus to India and Sri Lanka (concurrently) M. Kasko participated in the ceremonial opening of Belavia Airlines' first flight from Minsk, Belarus, to Mattala, Sri Lanka.

In his welcoming speech, the Head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission thanked the flight crew and noted that this significant event opens a new chapter in relations between Belarus and Sri Lanka in the lead-up to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries.

In turn, Professor Ruwan Ranasinhne, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Sri Lanka, thanked everyone involved in the launch of direct air service between Belarus and Sri Lanka and stated that this event is significant for Sri Lanka, given the approaching start of the tourist season, and will contribute to the development of strong mutually beneficial ties between our countries.
