On the situation in Sri Lanka

From May 13th, 2019 until further notice a curfew is imposed in the North-West province of Sri Lanka. Access to social networks and instant messaging systems (WhatsApp) is also limited.
These measures were taken by the Government of Sri Lanka in connection with the intensification of clashes between the Muslim and Buddhist population of the country after the recent terrorist attacks.
Belarusian citizens in Sri Lanka are advised to take special care and avoid crowded places, as well as to observe a curfew and recommendations of the Lankan authorities.
