Statement on current situation

The Republic of Belarus with an anxiety observes the escalation of tension between the two friendly for our country states — India and Pakistan.
Belarus pursues a peaceful foreign policy consistently, fundamentally standing for the resolution of any debatable situations in exceptionally peaceful way. Our country resolutely reprobates any forms and manifestations of terrorism notwithstanding of the origin of terrorists and reasons that they are guided.
The region of South Asia, to which possessing nuclear weapon India and Pakistan belong, is extraordinarily important for maintenance of
the international peace and safety. Uncontrolled escalation of tension in this region is fraught with hazard and unpredictable consequences.
We call all parties concerned to demonstrate prudence and restraint, to use all possible means to ease tension on the basis of negotiations and consultations, not resorting to use military force.
